We’re still about ten weeks away from our move to Carolina Beach.

Technically, we’re on the north side of Wilmington right now—about a 30-minute drive from the ocean. Close… but not close enough.

So, I cheat.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve found nine surf cams around Carolina Beach and Kure Beach that let me “visit” whenever I want. Some mornings, I’ll pull one up before the sun comes up and watch the sky turn pink over the Atlantic. During the day, I’ll sometimes keep one open while I’m working—an ocean view from my desk, even if it’s just pixels.

It makes the move feel real. Like we’re already easing into island life.

If you’re local, you probably already have your favorite cam. If you’re dreaming about being here, maybe these will help you feel a little closer too.

Here are the ones I’ve been using lately.

Do you have a favorite Pleasure Island surf cam I missed? Let me know—I’ll add it to the list.
